And about 30 minutes later, police were called to a neighborhood in east Wichita where they found a 26-year-old man dead in a vehicle.

Police were called to the Riverside neighborhood shortly after 11 a.m. on Sunday, according to a press release issued to local media on Sunday by Officer Charley Davidson, public relations unit with the Wichita Police Department.

“This is not believed to be a random incident, and is an active and ongoing investigation as investigators are interviewing several parties regarding the incident,” Davidson wrote in the release.

At 11:45 a.m. Sunday, police received a phone call from a resident in east Wichita who reported a suspicious character in the 7800 block of East Pagent.

When police arrived, they found the 26-year-old man dead in the car.

No arrests have been made in either case.
