The call to Fire Station 22 was slightly out of the ordinary.

A puppy somehow had gotten its head stuck in the middle of a tire.

Fire crews responded, according to the Wichita Fire Department’s Facebook page. Residents could not get the puppy’s head out of the wheel, according to the post.

The crew tried soapy water to try to slip the puppy’s head from the wheel. Eventually, the young animal was removed safety and returned to its owner.

The fire department shared photos of the rescue Sunday night on Twitter and Facebook.
