Automobilia Moonlight Car Show

The 22nd annual Automobilia Moonlight Car Show and Street Party happens Saturday in downtown Wichita. The event will include live entertainment from seven different bands, three food courts, three vendor merchandise courts, a swap meet and a model car contest. All cars and motorcycles are welcome, and owners can register them on-site.

Sedgwick County Fair

Cheney will again be the site of the annual Sedgwick County Fair, an event that has everything from monster truck rallies to carnival rides. This weekend’s fair boasts a large parade, food vendors and a country concert with headliner Neal McCoy on Friday. It will also have a variety of 4-H project displays throughout the weekend. KEYN Summer Concert Series starts

King Midas and the Muflers will perform Friday at the Wichita WaterWalk in the opening concert of the annual 103.7 KEYN Summer Concert series. There will be six concerts in all, one each Friday through Aug. 12. This year’s concert series will have food trucks and free garage parking. Attendees should bring their own seating.

Anime Festival fun

This weekend’s Anime Festival, a celebration of Japanese animation and the culture surrounding it, will feature special guests including voice actress Samantha Inoue-Harte, indie author Ryter Rong and comedian Mikey Mason. There will be vendors, panels, autograph opportunities, a cosplay fashion show and more throughout the weekend.

Loretta Lynn at the Stiefel

Loretta Lynn will bring nearly a half-century of country music experience to the Stiefel Theatre stage on Saturday as she makes a stop to perform some of her classic hits. Lynn is best known as the “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” and her hits include “You’re Lookin’ at Country.”

Rickman sculpture in Newton

Artwork by former Smithsonian Institution sculptor the late Vernon Rickman will be on display in the exhibit “A Kansan’s Soulful Life in Art” starting Saturday at the Carriage Factory Art Gallery. A reception with live music and speeches by the artist’s nephews will open the exhibit. After retiring, Rickman created hundreds of oil paintings, sculptures and charcoal drawings before he died in 2013. A Newton native, Rickman’s art was heavily influenced by his Kansas roots. The exhibit is a part of an oral history project documenting Rickman’s life.

Dan Band at the Casino

The Dan Band, fronted by lead singer and famous funnyman Dan Finnerty, will appear Saturday at the Kansas Star Casino. The band, which creates its own humorous songs, has released two albums and will release its third, “The Wedding Album,” next week. Finnerty started his music-comedy career after making appearances as a wedding singer in movies like “Old School” and “The Hangover.”

Wellington Wheat Festival

Wellington will put on its 116th Wheat Grass Festival this weekend at the Wellington fairgrounds. The four-day festival will include street dances, live music, a parade, a doughnut-eating contest, a carnival, a tractor pull and more.

Darrell Scott at Bartlett Arboretum

Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Darrell Scott will perform his country tunes at Bartlett Arboretum on Sunday. He’s traveling in support of his newest album, “Couchville Sessions,” made up of songs recorded more than 15 years ago that are just now being released. Scott has written songs over the years for country music greats like Tim McGraw and Travis Tritt.

Workroom Second Saturday market
