Year in Review: The best Wichita-area athletic programs by league and classification

The City League and AVCTL have some of the top high school athletes in Kansas, and the Wichita-area’s Class 6A and 5A teams are outstanding.

Here is a look at how the 60 Wichita-area teams ranked against their league and classification rivals from the 2019-20 school year.

Every year, the Eagle and Varsity Kansas publish a multi-part series called the Year in Review. Achievements are tracked throughout the school year across all 60 Wichita-area high schools. Team and individual achievements are given point values to create a formula.
