Every year, the Eagle and Varsity Kansas publish a multi-part series called the Year in Review. Achievements are tracked throughout the school year across all 60 Wichita-area high schools. Team and individual achievements are given point values to create a formula.

Football, basketball, boys soccer, volleyball

Team sports state championship: 50

Team sports runner-up finish: 40

Team sports top 4 finish: 30

Team sports regional/sub-state championship: 20

Team sports league championship: 10

All-State first team selections: 5

All-State second team/honorable mention selections: 2.5

Wrestling, boys swimming and diving, cross country, girls golf, girls tennis, bowling

Quasi-team sports state championship: 40

Quasi-team sports runner-up finish: 30

Quasi-team sports top 4 finish: 20

Quasi-team sports regional championship: 10

Points for accomplishments do not build on one another, except for league championships, which add onto the highest-achieved point tier.
