Lip readers knew just what Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes told Lions star after penalty
NFL fans have in the past, do today and will continue to complain about the Chiefs and NFL officials.
One of the big conspiracy theories over the past year or so has been that the NFL is actively trying to help the Chiefs. That’s been done either by having referees call phantom penalties on Chiefs opponents or not flagging Kansas City players.
But even if you are a full-blown tinfoil hat wearer, there is no denying that the Lions’ Aidan Hutchinson deserved a roughing the passer call during the Chiefs’ “Sunday Night Football” win over Detroit at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Hutchison knocked over Mahomes well after a pass was thrown, and it led to a funny exchange.
Lip readers knew exactly what Mahomes was saying to Hutchison, even though NBC Sports’ cameras cut away before the Chiefs quarterback finished his sentence (and cursed). But here’s guessing you know exactly what Mahomes told Hutchison.
Mahomes shrugged off the interaction after the game.
“You’re playing football. I mean, you’re being chippy,” Mahomes told reporters. “That’s a physical football team, and they have a mentality that they come in to play with, and we’re going to match that mentality. We’re not afraid to go up against anybody, and that’s the mentality coach (Andy) Reid brings every single day.”
