Travis Kelce + Patrick Mahomes’ 1587 steakhouse will have Chiefs-themed decor
The wait is nearly over for diners who want to try the 1587 Prime steakhouse from Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, which is set to open this summer.
According to a news release, the steakhouse will be located at the base of the Loews Kansas City Hotel at 1500 Baltimore Ave.
According to the release, the restaurant’s decor will have a football feel to it.
“The design, brought to life by highly lauded Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry in partnership with Noble 33’s award-winning in-house design team, takes inspiration from key football references, reinterpreted into a modern, artistic, and authentic environment, laced with subtle nods to the game,” the release said.
“The street-level entrance, designed to emulate a stadium tunnel walk, dramatically leads guests to the host stand highlighted by a 10-foot-wide refrigerated meat display at the front of the restaurant. Additionally, brass inlay tick markers subtly line the entrance floor, mimicking field lines. In the main dining area, red marbling details on the tabletops hint at the football players’ team colors, while the seating and various art pieces throughout are inspired by deconstructed football shapes.”
In addition to the Chiefs’ red on the tables, here are more interesting details from the release:
- The restaurant will be 10,000 square feet
- It will seat 238 patrons
- There will be a 20-seat central bar on the first floor
- A private dining room with an 18-person capacity is planned
- There will be private VIP entrance
- The restaurant also will have a semi-private dining room with a 40-person capacity
- A grand piano will allow for live music
- A custom art installation will be inspired by “flag on the play” talk in the NFL
Mahomes said last year that he was hoping to eat at 1587 Prime after a home game every now and then.
“I’ve already seen the menu, I can’t give away too many things. A lot of great stuff, though. A few of my favorites. Ketchup will be there,” Mahomes quipped.
“Hopefully we can win some games at Arrowhead Stadium and then we get to go over and have a few drinks and food with it.”
