Chiefs announce 2 new members of radio broadcast team. Both should be familiar to fans

Mitch Holthus will return as the voice of the Chiefs radio broadcasts for his 27th season.

His crew is changing.

Former Chiefs wide receiver Danan Hughes will take over as the radio color commentator for the broadcasts, which are moving to 106.5 FM this season. Hughes, who played for the franchise from 1993-98, replaces former Chiefs long-snapper Kendall Gammon, who after serving as a sideline reporter began color-commentating in 2016.

The network is also adding a new sideline reporter — Josh Klinger, a sports morning show host on 610 AM. Klinger has served as the sideline reporter for Kansas games for 14 years.

Art Hains will return in his role as the host of the pre-game and post-game show coverage.

“We are very excited to begin defending our Super Bowl championship in a few short weeks and are thrilled to have Mitch, Danan and Josh bringing the game action to Chiefs fans throughout the Kingdom, while Art anchors the pre- and postgame coverage on 106.5 The Wolf,” Chiefs executive vice president of business operations Tyler Epp said in a statement. “The Chiefs Radio Network is adding talented individuals to the booth, and we know they will provide the excitement and insight that Chiefs fans have come to expect when tuning in.”
