- Auburn lineman Tyler Johnson and Hawaii receiver Brandon White join K-State.
- Coach Collin Klein assembled nearly 30 transfers, reshaping team depth.
Kansas State football coach Collin Klein has lined up commitments from nearly 30 incoming transfers this month.
The Wildcats added two new players from the portal over the weekend, which gives them a total of 26 for the current transfer cycle.
Both of K-State’s newest additions will help on offense.
Tyler Johnson, a 6-foot-6 and 304-pound sophomore offensive lineman from Auburn, committed to the Wildcats on Sunday.
Johnson spent the past three seasons blocking for Auburn. As a freshman, he saw action in three games while retaining his redshirt. The following season, he played in all 12 games and made his first college start against Alabama A&M. And he was once again a staple in the Auburn lineup last season, as he again played in every game for the Tigers.
But he spent much of his time on special teams as a sophomore. He will look for an expanded role in Manhattan.
Brandon White, a 5-foot-8 and 170-pound junior from Hawaii, has also pledged his services to K-State. White is a speedy target who caught 38 passes for 399 yards and two touchdowns last season with the Rainbow Warriors.
White only spent one season at Hawaii. Before that, he played for Kentucky but never saw much action with the Wildcats.
