Kansas State adds Georgia defensive end Ozzie Hoffler to 2021 recruiting class

Another day, another new recruit for the Kansas State football team.

The Wildcats member No. 16 to their 20201 recruiting class Monday when Ozzie Hoffler, a defensive end from College Park, Ga., publicly announced his commitment on social media. He pledged his services one day after K-State landed three-star offensive lineman Andrew Leingang.

“I did some research and I like the school, the program, the relationships I have with the coaches and I like how strong their academics are,” Hoffler told Rivals. “They play big-time football, and that is another thing I looked at.”

Hoffler held scholarship offers from dozens of different Division I football programs, but he ultimately chose K-State over Boston College and Central Florida.

He is the first defensive end K-State has landed for the 2021 recruiting class. Rivals rates the three-star recruit as the No. 99 prospect in Georgia. He is the nation’s 1,248th rated recruit, per 247Sports.

His recruitment was a bit unorthodox, as none of the schools that were after him were able to watch him play in-person during the spring evaluation period because of the coronavirus pandemic. But something stood out to him about K-State.

The Wildcats began showing interest in him in March and officially offered him a scholarship last week.

It didn’t take him long to choose K-State once it showed serious interest.
