A Wichita restaurant on Douglas will soon be a Wichita restaurant on Central
First it was a food truck. Then it was a food truck and a restaurant.
Now, chef Akamu Noble says he is relocating his Noble House Hawaiian restaurant, which opened its brick-and-mortar business at 3238 E. Douglas in 2017. Late on Tuesday, he announced via Facebook that the restaurant will close at the end of business on Dec. 14 and reopen in January at 3019 E. Central.
The new space was formerly home to Liberty Tax Service and sits just to the west of the strip mall with the newish Starbucks near Central and Hillside. It’s also not far from the new shipping container mall Revolutsia.
Noble House serves Hawaiian plate lunches, including dishes like poke and Kalua pork. Noble said he is planning a moving sale at the Douglas store on Dec. 13 and 14, where he’ll sell half-price plate lunches and $4 you-call-it well drinks.
I’ll let you know if I get more details.
