Opinion Line Extra (Aug. 11)

The hardest thing for parents to understand is how tough it will be for future generations if Hillary wins the White House.


The so-called darkness of the Republican National Convention was simply Trump’s recitation of the current state of our country, thanks largely to Barack Obama and the Democrats.


If Trump is elected president, his voters will have unwittingly awakened a sleeping monster.


Need I remind everyone that the last successful businessman president left us on the brink of the second Great Depression? Running a government is nothing like running a business.


If you believe that high taxes, excessive regulations, job-killing unproven and unhelpful compliance mandates, and strengthening of the elite political ruling class in Washington are all good things, well, then you must vote for the insiders’ insider, Hillary Clinton. God help us if we are so distracted and uninformed.


Too bad Donald Trump’s daughter or son isn’t running for president. I think either one would be the better choice.


While waiting at the drive-through for my Mexican carryout, I had to endure a vile decal on the back window of an SUV in front of me. Obviously, this type will vote for Trump.


Let me guess: The letter writer who thinks boxing is such a horrible sport (Aug. 8 Letters to the Editor) voted for Obama and will vote for Clinton this fall.


If someone new decides to run for the office of president, their name will likely appear last on the ballot, so to clinch the election, they should simply change their name to “none of the above.”


Please, Amtrak president and CEO Joe Boardman, do more to help get our passenger trains back and running through Wichita.


I wish businesses would just tell you their prices without making you come in for a chat. They lose selling anything to me by trying to get me in for the hard sell.


The speed limits on the highways that belt this city are just that – speed limits. If you have no intention of operating legally, you are abusing your driving privileges. Why are you up there as a moving violation? Get off.
