New center will be focused on children and families

Congratulations to the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County for raising the $7 million needed to renovate the old Lincoln Elementary School, 1121 S. Emporia. The renovated facility, which is expected to be ready early this summer, will enable eight different agencies to work together to protect the safety and welfare of children. The new center will be child- and family-focused, providing wraparound services to abused and neglected children. The fundraising campaign is an important community statement about the value of our children. – Phillip Brownlee
