Four division directors in the Kansas Insurance Department are retiring, effective Friday, the Kansas Health Institute News Service reported. Together, Marlyn Burch, Ted Clark, Steve O’Neil and Neil Woerman have more than 125 years of experience at the department. Last June, Linda Sheppard, special counsel and director of health care policy and analysis at the department, resigned to join KHI. The departures come as Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger prepares to retire. Praeger, who was recently recognized by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners for her distinguished leadership, will be replaced next month by recently elected Ken Selzer. – Phillip Brownlee
