Koch objects to Trump’s order on refugees

Include the Koch network among those objecting to President Trump’s executive order on immigrants and on refugees from certain Muslim-majority countries. “We believe it is possible to keep Americans safe without excluding people who wish to come here to contribute and pursue a better life for their families,” said Brian Hooks, the president of the Charles Koch Foundation. “The travel ban is the wrong approach and will likely be counterproductive.” Last year, Charles Koch said that Trump’s proposal to temporarily ban all Muslims from entering the United States was “antithetical to our approach.” Members of the Kansas congressional delegation also expressed concern that the executive order went too far, and they encouraged Trump to work with Congress on such policies. – Phillip Brownlee
