Rain is on its way out the door before the start of the Memorial Day weekend in Wichita.

“There’s not going to be any chance of rain Friday through Monday,” said meteorologist James Cuellar with the National Weather Service in Wichita.

The rain, which has been falling in Wichita and other areas of south-central Kansas since late Monday, is expected to stop by Thursday morning, Cuellar said. The Wichita area saw about 3 inches of rain on Tuesday.

Temperatures are forecast to sit in the 80s and 90s all weekend, with Sunday near 90 and Friday around 83, according to a detailed forecast.

A slight southerly breeze is expected, but nothing that could create an “impact,” Cuellar said.
