Snow could fall in Wichita on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, NWS forecasters predict
Meteorologists are predicting a chance for snow in Wichita on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The National Weather Service office in Wichita said in a hazardous weather outlook that light snow is possible Monday evening and night across southern and southeast Kansas. Only a dusting of snow accumulation, at most, is expected.
A light snow is possible late Tuesday night into early afternoon Wednesday, weather service officials predict. Snow accumulations across the region are expected to stay under an inch.
The NWS forecast for the city calls for a 50% chance of precipitation Monday night, starting with rain and snow before 11 p.m., then snow before 1 a.m. The low temperature will be around 30 degrees, with wind speeds of up to 8 mph.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for a daytime high temperature of around 43 degrees before a 30% chance of snow overnight, starting around midnight. The overnight low will be around 30 degrees.
The chance for snow continues at 40% Wednesday morning, changing over to rain and snow around 7 a.m., then just rain after noon.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday are expected to be mostly sunny, but a 20% chance of rain and snow returns Saturday night and continues through Sunday.
