A 20-year-old man died Sunday after a fiery crash where his sedan left the road, entered a ditch and struck a tree in northeast Kansas.

The man was identified as Richard Roberts of Sebring, Florida, Kansas Highway Patrol logs show.

The crash was reported at 2:13 a.m. along U.S. 77 in Geary County. Roberts was driving northbound on U.S. 77 in a 2020 Ford Fusion. The report said he was driving at a high rate of speed and entered a ditch.
