Pup abandoned in alleyway is Kansas shelter’s longest resident. Now Jojo needs a home
A lovable dog who has been bounced around a bit is in need of a loving — and permanent — home, one Kansas shelter says.
A 2-year-old pit bull named Jojo and his siblings were discovered in a cruel way when they were puppies in 2022, the Helping Hands Humane Society in Topeka said in an Oct. 29 Facebook post.
“Jojo’s story began back in May 2022, when he arrived at our shelter as part of a litter left in an alleyway in a plastic tote,” the shelter said alongside photos of the handsome pup.
“Since then, this sweet boy has been through a lot, finding homes but ultimately making his way back to us each time. Not because of anything he did—just circumstances that didn’t quite fit his big heart and playful spirit.”
He last came back to the shelter 123 days ago, and he’s now the shelter’s longest resident, staff said.
“He’s also our shelter dog training class rock star, a familiar face in play groups, and a staff favorite!” they said.
“Currently, he’s on a ‘Slumber Party’ foster with our adoption coordinator, Ashley, who tells us that Jojo is a big couch potato most days. He loves snuggling, chewing on his toys, and just hanging out.”
While he may come off as shy at first, he warms up and his personality shines through. He’s playful and goofy, his pet profile says.
“His gentle, friendly nature is sure to win over everyone he meets. Jojo is looking for a forever home where he can share his sweetness and love,” his profile says.
