These 2 Kansas community colleges are some of the best in US, ranking says. See the list

A recent ranking named one Kansas community college as the best in the United States.

WalletHub released its best community colleges in 2024 ranking this month and put two Kansas colleges in the top five. Manhattan Area Technical College in Manhattan, Kansas, was named first and Pratt Community College in Pratt earned the third spot.

WalletHub compiled the ranking by comparing 650 community colleges across the nation on a number of factors, including graduation rate, student to teacher ratio, and cost of tuition and fees.

Manhattan Area Technical College has an enrollment of 842, according to U.S. News & World Report. The student to teacher ratio of the college is 15 to 1.

“This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our faculty, staff, and students, and it reflects our ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for success,” the college’s president, James Genandt, said in a social media post by the college.

The college offers multiple degree programs in automotive technology, business and information technology, general and adult education, health sciences and more.

Pratt Community College has an enrollment of 1,164, according to U.S. News & World Report, and a student to teacher ratio of 21 to 1.

“Hats off to the PCC Faculty and Staff for the hard work, dedication and commitment to helping PCC students achieve success,” Pratt Community College’s president, Michael Calvert, said in a release posted on the college’s website.

Pratt Community College offers multiple academic majors, technical programs and certificate programs.
