Kansas man, 50, dies after being ejected from cement mixer truck that overturned

A Kansas man died after being thrown out of a cement mixer truck when it overturned in Tuesday in Cowley County.

He was identified as 50-year-old Charles Velz of Winfield, Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.

The accident was reported around 9:25 a.m. along eastbound U.S. 160 in Winfield. The cement mixer truck Velz was driving left the road, struck a culvert and partially overturned in a ditch, the report said.

Velz was ejected, the crash logs said. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
