Kansas teenager killed when pickup collides with dirt bike

A teenager riding a dirt bike was killed when he was struck by a pickup on Monday in southwest Kansas.

The teen was identified as 15-year-old Michael Lowry of Meade Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.

The incident was reported around 5:18 p.m. along K Road less than a mile from U.S. 54. Dylan Duesing, 27, of Meade, was westbound on K Road in a 2002 Dodge Ram while Lowry was heading north and coming out of a field, the report said.

Lowry was taken to the Meade District Hospital where he died from his injuries. Duesing was not injured , the crash log said.
