Police: Dental records identify two Wichita residents killed in fiery crash with combine

Dental records have identified the two people killed after a fiery car collision with a combine on Nov. 7, the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

On Wednesday, the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center identified the people killed as 28-year-old Lucas Connor Walker and 33-year-old Sarah Laurella Deere, the sheriff’s office said. Both are from Wichita.

Officers could not identify the two after the crash in the rural part of the county.

Around 12:19 p.m. on Nov. 7, the 2005 Chevrolet Impala driven by Walker went underneath a combine while headed south on 75th Road, just south of the intersection at 102nd Road. Deere was a passenger in the car.

The car became engulfed in flames. The driver of the combine was not injured.

No cause of the accident was mentioned in the sheriff’s office news release.
