Wichita Assistant City Manager Troy Anderson was not selected to serve as Sarasota, Florida’s new city manager.

Sarasota announced that it has selected Karie Friling, from DuPage County, Illinois, to serve in the role. Friling will be the city’s first female city manager.

Anderson was one of five finalists.

He was also selected as a finalist for a city administrator role in Davenport, Iowa. The city ultimately ended up selecting its interim administrator, Tim Gleason, for that job.

Anderson was in Sarasota earlier this week interviewing for the city manager job.
