Wichita’s Troy Anderson named finalist for Sarasota city manager job
Update, Feb. 17: The city of Davenport has chosen Tim Gleason as its next city administrator. Troy Anderson was a finalist there. Gleason was also named as a finalist for the Sarasota city manager job along with Anderson.
Original story, Feb. 12: Wichita Assistant City Manager Troy Anderson has been named a finalist to be the city manager for Sarasota, Florida.
Anderson was also named a finalist last month for a city administrator role in Davenport, Iowa.
Anderson has worked for the city of Wichita since 2022 as its assistant city manager for development services where he leads the city’s economic and commercial development efforts.
Anderson was selected as one of six finalists in Sarasota’s open search for a city manager, which named dozens of others before the finalists were chosen by the city’s commission.
Other finalists include former city manager of Stockton, California ,Harry Black; deputy city manager of Homestead, Florida, Kemarr Brown; assistant city administrator for Washington D.C. Christopher Rodriguez; interim administrator of Davenport, Iowa, Tim Gleason; and Karie Filing of DuPage County, Illinois.
Gleason, like Anderson, is also a finalist for the city administrator role in Davenport.
Sarasota is expected to interview and select a final candidate for the position later this month.
Anderson has yet to respond to a request for comment.
Davenport has also yet to make an announcement on whether Anderson is still in the running for the city’s administrator role.
