It’s back to school for Wichita students Wednesday – except some at one middle school
Wichita students will get back to school Wednesday, district officials announced this afternoon.
But some students at Wilbur Middle School in west Wichita will get another day off.
A water pipe break in the sixth-grade hall at Wilbur is under repair, so Wilbur sixth-graders should not report to school Wednesday, the district tweeted Tuesday.
Wilbur seventh- and eighth-graders should report to school as usual.
The Wichita Public Schools will be IN SESSION Wednesday, January 17. The ONLY exception is there will be no school for 6th grade students at @WilburWranglers due to a water pipe break in the 6th grade hall. Seventh and 8th grade students at Wilbur will have school.

No other weather-related damage was reported, so other schools will have classes as scheduled Wednesday, said district spokeswoman Susan Arensman.
The Wichita district and others in the area canceled school Tuesday because of sub-zero temperatures and dangerous wind chills.
