Two shootings on Tuesday might be connected
Wichita police investigators are now looking into the possibility that two shootings on Tuesday are connected.
The first shooting happened shortly after 6 p.m. near 24th and Ellen. Shots were fired between two vehicles — a dark-colored crossover SUV and a small blue car, according to Wichita-Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers.
No one was shot, but several homes in the area were hit with bullets and a 54-year-old woman was injured when her shin was hit by debris after a bullet entered her house, Officer Charley Davidson said. Officers found numerous casings of several different calibers in street.
About two hours later, another shooting was reported in the 2800 block of East Harry.
Four people were sitting inside of their vehicle when three men started to shoot at them, police said. Two people were shot and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooters got into a small blue car and left the area.
Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111 or submit a tip online at wichitasedgwickcountycrimestoppers.com.
