Police identify woman stabbed to death Sunday night
Wichita police have identified the woman who was stabbed to death in her home Sunday night in southwest Wichita.
Marilyn Dye, 64, was found in a bedroom of her house in the 1100 block of South Martinson by officers responding to a 911 call in which a man said he had killed his wife and would be waiting for police on the front porch.
The 63-year-old man was taken into custody and then hospitalized with unrelated health issues, police have said. He remained hospitalized on Wednesday.
Police have said Dye was stabbed multiple times. They have not said what preceded the stabbing.
“We believe we have the weapon,” Wichita police Lt. Todd Ojile said Monday when discussing the incident with media. “It was still inside the residence.”
Dye is the 14th homicide victim of the year in Wichita, officials have said.
