Police investigate connection between shootings after four people hurt

Three people were in critical condition following a shooting in northeast Wichita on Saturday afternoon, Sedgwick County dispatch confirmed.

The shooting occurred just before 3:30 p.m. in a home in the 2500 block of E. 25th Street N., public information officer Kris Gupilan confirmed in an email to The Eagle. A 23-year-old woman, a 50-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man were taken in critical condition to a hospital.

“There is another person who arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound,” Gupilan wrote, “but at this point we don’t know if it’s related to this incident.”

The department is continuing to investigate the shootings and their possible connection to other acts of violence that happened overnight in Wichita. Gupilan encouraged tipsters to contact Wichita police investigators at 316-268-4407 or provide information anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
