One person was shot and three others were battered in a large disturbance at a central Wichita apartment complex early Saturday.

Police officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North Nims around 2:44 a.m. Saturday after a reported shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 31-year-old woman with gunshot wounds to her upper torso, a Wichita Police Department press release said. The woman was transported to the hospital in stable, but critical, condition.

A 28-year-old woman, a 32-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were also found with injuries.

The suspects had left the scene.

Police say a large disturbance happened in the apartment complex parking lot before the shooting.

“Officers and detectives are actively working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting,” the press release reads.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact the police department at 316-268-4407 or anonymously at 316-267-2111.
