Wichita police are searching for a teenager accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend and another teen Sunday near Main and Waterman.

The injured teens — a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy — were hospitalized with serious injuries, Wichita police spokesman Andrew Ford said.

The accused shooter is also a 17-year-old. Police were searching for him on Monday, Ford said.

Ford said the 16-year-old girl and the 17-year-old boy were parked in a vehicle at Wichita Street and Waterwalk Place shortly before 7 p.m. when the girl’s ex-boyfriend “approached and fired multiple shots, striking both victims.”

The injured teens drove to the QuikTrip at 1112 W. Douglas for help.

“The case remains under active investigation,” Ford said Monday.
