Teen brothers get into an argument. Then one shoots the other, Wichita police say
Two teenage brothers got into a disagreement before the older one shot the younger one Friday afternoon in north Wichita, police spokesperson Andrew Ford said.
Police were called at 3:07 p.m. in the 2700 block of East 24th Street North, which is between Grove and Hillside. The 15-year-old was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition, Ford said, adding he is expected to survive.
“Initial reports indicate that two brothers were inside a home and had a verbal dispute. During this disagreement, a firearm was introduced, resulting in the 15-year-old being shot by his 16-year-old brother,” he said. “Another family member was in the residence at the time of the incident.”
He said the case was in the early stages and still being investigated.
