A woman accused of dragging a Sedgwick County deputy with a vehicle during a traffic stop has been arrested.

“The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has located and arrested 22-year-old Nevaeh Ann Thompson following an aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer,” the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook on Friday morning.

She was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail at 12:21 p.m. Friday on suspicion of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, interference with law enforcement and contempt of court, an online log of inmates shows.

The deputy was dragged “a short distance” around 3 a.m. Sunday near Lincoln and Rock Road when he followed Thompson into her vehicle to prevent her from fleeing the traffic stop, the Facebook post says.

“During the stop, Thompson informed the deputy that she might have outstanding warrants for her arrest. Before she could be taken into custody, Thompson quickly jumped back into her vehicle in an attempt to flee,” the post says.

The deputy received minor injuries but is expected to be OK, The Eagle reported previously.

Authorities found Thompson’s vehicle abandoned in the 7300 block of East Indianapolis, where surveillance footage from an area home showed her running away from it. The Sheriff’s Office had asked the public for tips on her whereabouts after the incident.
