The 19-year-old Wichita man wanted in the QuikTrip shooting on Halloween that killed a 13-year-old boy and wounded a 15-year-old boy and has turned himself in, Wichita police said.

The man was arrested Monday at the Garvey building at 300 W. Douglas, according to arrest records released Tuesday morning. His identity has not been released, pending the filing of formal charges.

Police had arrested the man’s cousin, a 19-year-old Wichita woman, on Nov. 6. The woman, who has remained jailed since then, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Police asked for the public’s help on Nov. 2 to find the man, who police said was considered armed and dangerous. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and criminal discharge of a firearm, records show.

He was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail at 4:16 p.m. Monday.

Police responded to the shooting at 10:36 p.m. Oct. 31 at the QuikTrip on Central and Oliver. The shooting happened during what police called a “disturbance/fight.”

Around the same time as that call, police were also called to Wesley Medical Center, where the boys had been taken by a private vehicle.

The 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg and survived.

Donald L. Williams, the 13-year-old, was pronounced dead at the hospital at 10:48 p.m. Donald was trick-or-treating just minutes from his house when he was shot, according to a GoFundMe set up to help with funeral-related expenses. The fundraiser can be found at shorturl.at/Di5mt.

Donald Williams was an eighth grader at Curtis Middle School, according to his obituary. He liked to play football, fish and had hiked Pikes Peak, the obituary says.
