A man who died after being shot Sunday has been identified as 20-year-old Armando Garcia of Wichita.

The shooting was reported around 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 3000 block of E. 79th St. South. Officers found Garcia, who had been shot in his abdomen, sheriff’s office spokesperson Robin Busch said in a news release.

Garcia was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to the release.

Detectives booked 21-year-old Isac Monjaras of Haysville on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the shooting, the release said.

The shooting happened at a graduation party at a home. Garcia and Monjaras knew each other, Busch said.

“We believe they were friends,” Busch added.

Investigators say alcohol may have been a factor, the release said.
