Wichita police look for woman after man is shot, critically injured

Wichita police are investigating a shooting that hospitalized a 43-year-old man Sunday night.

The incident was reported around 11:18 p.m. in the 700 block of N. Ash. Officers found a man who had been shot in his chest, police spokesperson Trevor Macy said in a news release.

He was taken to a hospital with critical injuries but is expected to live, Macy said.

Detectives are looking for a 31-year-old woman who lives in the home with the man and who left before officers arrived, Macy added.

The relationship between the woman and the victim is unknown.
