Party bus tied to weekend parking lot brawl at Wichita club that hurt three, police say
Police say a weekend parking lot fight that involved several guns at a Wichita night club ended when dozens of people left on a party bus.
Police tracked the party bus down at Kellogg and Washington, stopped it and interviewed those aboard. Officers talked to about 40 people about the fight and found six handguns abandoned inside the bus, Wichita police spokesman Officer Charley Davidson said in an emailed news release.
Authorities received several 911 calls about the brawl, which happened just before midnight Saturday at Midnight Rodeo, 10001 E. Kellogg. By the time officers arrived at the club, the party bus was gone and the fight was over.
But police found two handguns and two people “who had been knocked unconscious” lying in the parking lot, Davidson’s email said. Those people had non-life-threatening injuries. A third person who had minor injuries sought treatment at a Wichita hospital.
About 50 people were involved in the fight, police said. Anyone with information about who was involved is asked to call Wichita police detectives at 316-268-4407, Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111 or the See Something, Say Something hotline at 316-519-2282.
