Wichita man arrested in connection to shootings of four people days apart, police say

A 31-year-old Wichita man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of four people on two occasions in June, police said.

Police said Isaac Jeffrey Pile had no connection to the victims.

Pile was arrested Monday at a business near Kellogg and Greenwich on suspicion of three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon as well as one count of aggravated battery and criminal damage to property. He is suspected of shooting three people at a motel near downtown on June 23 and in the parking lot of a club, also near downtown, on June 27.

Both happened in the early morning.

In the first shooting, police were called at around 1 a.m. to the Afton Motel, near Kellogg and Broadway. Police found people shot in three rooms. The victims were two men, ages 26 and 60, and a 25-year-old woman.

“Each one of them had sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds,” Capt. Jason Stephens said. “And essentially each one of them had heard gunshots outside and when they came out of their motel rooms they were shot by, at that time, an unknown individual.”

The second shooting, four days later, was reported at 2:30 a.m. at Lincoln and Broadway. Police later spoke at a hospital with a 32-year-old man who had been shot in the torso. The man had been leaving El Farol Rojo Club, 1030 South Broadway, with another person when he was shot in the parking lot.

The club is one-fifth of a mile south of the site of the first shooting.
