Man who died after east-side crash was 67-year-old Wichitan

Authorities say a 67-year-old Wichita man died after a Sunday afternoon crash at the intersection of North Oliver and East Second Street.

Bruce Reed was a backseat passenger in a Chevrolet Malibu that collided with a Hyundai Tucson at about 3:15 p.m. Reed was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries but died shortly after arriving, Wichita police said in an emailed news release.

The women driving the vehicles — 66 and 65 — were both hospitalized with minor injuries. Police said the Tucson was heading south on Oliver and struck the Malibu as it was heading west on Second Street. The crash remained under investigation Monday morning, police said.
