Sex offender brought woman home from Lord’s Diner and raped her, Wichita police say

A sex offender allegedly raped a woman after bringing her home from the Lord’s Diner, Wichita police said.

Donald Faye Thompson went to the Lord’s Diner on March 23, where he met a 47-year-old woman, Officer Paul Cruz said Monday in a news release. Thompson took the woman back to his apartment, where she was sexually assaulted.

Thompson is a 70-year-old man from Wichita. He is on the Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s sex offender registry with two child rape convictions in Arkansas. The victim in those cases was a 13-year-old girl.

Thompson was charged March 27 in Sedgwick County District Court with one count of rape. He is being held in the Sedgwick County Jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond. He has been in custody since his March 24 arrest.
