Convicted child rapist and sex offender arrested by Wichita police on suspicion of rape

A 70-year-old man who is a convicted child rapist and registered sex offender has been arrested by Wichita police on suspicion of rape.

Donald Faye Thompson, of Wichita, was arrested by police officers on Tuesday. Booking reports show he was arrested on suspicion of rape, alleging he used force to engage in sexual intercourse without consent.

Thompson is listed as a registered sex offender in the Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s registry. He has two rape convictions from a May 2000 case in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where the victim was a 13-year-old girl.

Thompson remains held in the Sedgwick County Jail. Sedgwick County District Court records did not show any charges filed against him Thursday afternoon.
