Wichita police identify man killed in Friday’s motorcycle crash

Wichita police say the 61-year-old man killed Friday when his motorcycle crashed into a truck near 13th and McLean is Randal Duncan of Wichita.

Police think speed played a role in the wreck, authorities said Monday in a news release identifying the victim.

Duncan was driving a motorcycle south on McLean at around 12:10 p.m. Friday when he crossed 13th Street North and lost control. He crossed the centerline and slid into a truck that was heading northbound on McLean, police said.

Duncan suffered critical injuries and died at the crash site.

“Speed involving the motorcycle operator is believed to be a factor” in the wreck, the news release said. “The WPD Critical Accident Team (CAT) responded to assist with the investigation.”
