Man dies in motorcycle wreck near 13th and McLean, police say

Update 2:15 p.m.:

A 61-year-old man died after losing control of his motorcycle and hitting a truck near 13th and McLean, police said.

At around 12:10 p.m., the man was traveling south on McLean and lost control after he crossed 13th. The man crossed the centerline and “slid into a truck traveling northbound on McLean, causing his fatal injuries,” officer Charley Davidson said in a news release.

“He was pronounced deceased on the scene,” the release says. “Speed involving the motorcycle operator is believed to be a factor.”

Original 12:30 p.m.:

Police have blocked off an area along McLean between Central and 13th after a wreck that led to one person being transported to a hospital.

Emergency dispatch said the wreck happened at around noon Friday and appeared to involve a motorcycle at 13th and McLean. One person was transported to the hospital as code blue, meaning they were not breathing, the dispatcher said.
