Wichita police look for suspect in shooting deaths at Hotel at WaterWalk

Wichita police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect in two shooting deaths at a Wichita hotel.

Kyle Young, 33, has felony warrants for aggravated assault and criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, according to Crime Stoppers. He is also a suspect in the Jan. 2 shooting at Hotel at WaterWalk that killed George Kirksey, 27, and Alicia Roman, 22.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting happened at around 12:20 a.m. in a downtown Wichita hotel room at 711 S. Main. Police previously said they thought the victims were inside the hotel room when a suspect came inside and fired multiple shots before running away. There were not signs of forced entry.

The case was the first two criminal homicides of 2020.

Kansas Department of Corrections records show Kyle Del’Shawn Young absconded from community corrections on Jan. 15. He has prior drug possession and distribution convictions in Sedgwick County.
