Kansas man killed his sister’s ex-boyfriend by cutting his neck, Wichita cops say

Update, 10:45 a.m. Tuesday:

Wichita police said the victim in the case died of his injuries on Monday. He was identified as Vincent Venturella.

Original story:

A Kansas man accused of trying to kill his sister’s ex-boyfriend has been arrested, police said Monday.

Wichita police were first called at around 5:10 p.m. on Saturday to a reported assault at a home in the 200 block of North Spruce, Officer Charley Davidson said. They found a 19-year-old man with “a severe laceration to his neck.”

Investigators determined that the man was attacked during a fight with Morgan Prager. Davidson said the subject of the disturbance was a woman who is the sister of the suspect and the ex-girlfriend of the victim.

Prager allegedly used a knife to cut the man’s neck, then fled from the home. He was later arrested in Pittsburg. He has since been booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder.

Prager had been discharged in December from community corrections after previous convictions for theft and criminal possession of a firearm in Wyandotte County, Kansas Department of Corrections records show.
