Third arrest made in connection with body found near Bel Aire

The Wichita Eagle

A third person has been arrested in connection to the death of 30-year-old Christian Osvaldo Hernandez, whose body was found on the side of the road last week near Bel Aire.

Whitney Nicole Dukes, 28, was arrested at her home in south Wichita on Monday on suspicion of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery with a dangerous weapon and failure to appear in a separate case, according to jail records.

Dukes has the same address as 33-year-old Thomas Ray Armstrong, who was arrested Friday on charges of intentional first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery. He remains in the Sedgwick County Jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.

Efrain Daniel Arroyo II, 30, of Derby, was arrested Saturday at the Kwik Shop at 47th South and Clifton. He was also booked on suspicion of intentional first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery, in addition to four contempt of court charges from unrelated Wichita police cases. He is being held at the jail, also in lieu of a $500,000 bond, on charges for the murder case as well as $800 for other cases.

Hernandez’s body was found by a passerby Wednesday morning along a road near Bel Aire. He had a gunshot wound and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. A white sedan the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said was connected to the case has been found.
