Wichita car dealer didn’t disclose safety recall, salesman wasn’t licensed, DA says
A Wichita car dealership and its owner have been ordered to pay $20,000 in penalties and compensate two customers after a district attorney’s office investigation.
Business owner Jacobs Lucky and dealership 37 Auto Sales LLC, 1739 N. Broadway, were ordered to pay civil penalties, compensate two consumers, address safety recalls and maintain appropriate licenses, District Attorney Marc Bennett said in a news release.
The district attorney’s office investigated after three complaints from consumers who had purchased vehicles at the dealership, the release said. Investigators found that the dealership had not disclosed a safety recall when selling a car and one or more of the salesmen were not licensed.
The business and its owner admitted the violations and entered a consent judgment with the district attorney on May 8.
