Robbers with knives and skeleton masks hurt Family Dollar employee, police say
A pair of robbers with knives and skeleton masks hurt a Wichita Family Dollar employee before running off with cash Tuesday night, police said.
The robbers — two men thought to be in their mid-twenties — walked into the Family Dollar store in the 1300 block of North Oliver at around 9:45 p.m. and demanded money from two workers, ages 32 and 35, Wichita police Officer Charley Davidson said.
The 32-year-old employee’s hand was injured when one of the robbers flashed his knife at her, Davidson said. They took off afterward and were still at large Wednesday.
The robbers were both about 5-feet, 5 inches tall, weighed between 135 and 140 pounds and both wore skeletons masks. One also wore a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and blue or purple gloves. The other also wore a black jacket over a maroon hooded sweatshirt, gray sweat pants, a black stocking cap and a black glove on one hand.
Davidson asked anyone with information about the robbers or who knows their identities to call Wichita police detectives at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
