Police investigate shooting that critically injured one in north Wichita, dispatch says
One person was critically injured in a shooting near a north Wichita park Thursday night.
Wichita police and paramedics were called to the 2100 block of North Shelton at around 9:13 p.m. for a reported shooting, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. One person was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Police scanner traffic indicated the victim was shot in his stomach area, but that he was alert as paramedics rushed him to an emergency room.
The shooting was reported in the same block as Woodland Park, near 21st and Arkansas.
