Police identify teenager killed in Haysville shooting

Police have identified the man killed in a Sunday shooting at a party in Haysville.

Jaylin Jacobs, 19, of Wichita, was killed Sunday morning in the 1900 block of East Diedrich.

No one has been arrested in the case.

“The department is continuing to follow up on leads and conducting interviews,” Haysville Police Chief Jeff Whitfield said in a news release.

At 1:46 a.m. on Sunday, the Haysville Police Department received a report of “possible gun shots in the area.” When officers got there, they saw a “large crowd leaving a party at a local venue after a fight had broken out” and found a man dead from gunshot wounds, Lt. Greg Wright said in a news release on Sunday.

Jacobs’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to support his family and pay for his death costs.

Anyone who may have been at the party or has any information on the shooting is asked to call the Haysville Police Department at 316-529-5912.
